OCTOBER MEETING - SPEAKER MAGIE RELPH

Magie Relph joined us for our monthly meeting yesterday.  Members found Magie's talk 'A Textile Journey' very interesting and fun, especially when we wrapped ourselves in the fabric lengths we caught as they flew across the room.  There was a noticeable difference in quality between the Dutch and Chinese fabrics.  it was interesting to be told the reasons for wearing the selvedges prominently, in order to impress people of the quality of the fabric.

It was great to have a selection of fabrics, beads and threads to view and purchase in the quiet atmosphere of our meeting rather than selecting items in a busy show.  Many thanks to Magie for an enjoyable afternoon.
